The most convenient way to get to the Traumatology Center is from Gedimino Street (address – Gedimino str. 36). The Center is open 24 hours a day on weekdays and weekends!

Patients apply (routed) to the Hospital Admission – Emergency Departments for emergency medical care.

Necessary medical care is provided continuously 24 hours a day, all year round.

Patients arriving individually, brought by ambulance to the Hospital Admission – Emergency Department and sent by general practitioners or other medical specialists, examined by an Emergency Department physicians and, after providing the necessary assistance and filling in the necessary documents, hospitalized or discharged for outpatient treatment.

Sending is not required for emergency aid.

Healthcare is provided to a patient from the age of 16 only with his or her consent, except in cases of emergency medical care, when the patient is unable to express his or her will.

Healthcare is provided to a minor patient under the age of 16 only with the consent of his or her representatives, except in cases of emergency medical care. Healthcare professionals must in all cases choose the methods of diagnosis and treatment which are most in the best interests of the minor, having regard in particular to the will of the minor and his or her representatives. In case of disagreement between the patient under 16 years of age and his / her representatives, the methods of diagnosis and treatment shall be chosen by the medical council, taking into account the interests of the minor.

Upon arrival, patients, who require additional examination to assess the condition and diagnosis, are provided with a monitoring service lasting from 4 to 24 hours. After this service, the patient is discharged home with recommendations or hospitalized for further examination and treatment.

Patients may leave outer clothing and footwear for storage to the responsible employee of the Admission – Emergency Department, signing the description of the items to be handed over.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE:

All permanent residents of the Republic of Lithuania, regardless of whether they are covered by Compulsory Health Insurance or not. The scope of necessary medical assistance is determined by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania.

All persons covered by health insurance in the countries of the European Union and in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland and who have presented a valid Form E Certificate (in accordance with the provisions on emergency care defined by the Council of Europe Regulation) or a European Health Insurance Card, certificate or other equivalent document. In the absence of these documents, the necessary assistance must be paid for in accordance with the procedure established by laws and other legal acts.

WHEN WILL I HAVE TO PAY?

If, after the initial examination by a physician, it is established that there is no indication for necessary medical care, but if the patient wishes, planned medical care (health care services not classified as necessary medical care) can be provided, only the patient will have to pay for it.
